Nicotinamide DUO™ (NMИ, NR) has been shown to have a variety of effects on cancer including:

 

  • Breast cancer

    A Chinese study found that NMИ can inhibit the growth and spread of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), a common and difficult-to-treat form of breast cancer . NMИ also improved cancer survival rates in animal studies (source).

  • Lung cancer

    A study found that high doses of NMИ can inhibit lung adenocarcinoma growth in vitro and in vivo (source).

  • Liver and pancreatic cancer

    NMИ has been shown to prevent liver and pancreatic cancers in animal studies (source).

  • Skin cancer

    NMИ-treated natural killer (NK) cells can reduce tumor growth in skin cancer in animal studies. NK cells are immune cells that kill cancer cells (source). 

  • Radiation-induced intestinal fibrosis

    NMИ can alleviate radiation-induced intestinal fibrosis by modulating gut microbiota (source). 

     

NMИ has also been shown to increase cell viability by reducing cell damage, apoptosis, and increasing cell migration.

 

*Common Question: Why do you use a reversed И when saying NMИ? In some countries this particular NAD+ precursor is being reclassified as a prescription medication. To combat this we've developed our own proprietary blend that includes it called Nicotinamide DUO. Using the reversed И is a trademark related precaution. 

 

Other Ingredients with cancer protective properties:

 

  • Quercetin

    Studies have shown that quercetin can inhibit the growth of cancer cells in the breast, colon, prostate, ovarian, endometrial, lung, and other types of tumors. Quercetin may also reduce the development of blood vessels, which can inhibit tumor growth (source1), (source2)

  • Resveratrol

    Resveratrol has been shown to have cytotoxic effects against many types of human tumor cells, including those from the breast, skin, cervix, ovary, stomach, prostate, colon, liver, pancreas, and thyroid. It can also increase the sensitivity of some cancer cells to chemotherapy agents, which may help overcome chemoresistance (source1), (source2).

  • Fisetin

    Fisetin can be effective in preventing the development of many types of cancer without causing cytotoxic effects on non-cancerous cells. For example, studies have shown that fisetin can reduce the viability of cervical cancer cells and inhibit their invasion and migration. In mice, fisetin has been shown to prevent tumor formation and inhibit tumor growth (source).

  • Trimethylglycine (TMG)

    TMG can increase the number of white blood cells, including lymphocytes, which can have an immunopotentiating effect (source).

    TMG can also inhibit tumor growth and is considered a useful radioprotective agent in radiotherapy. TMG can also enhance the effect of 5-FU treatment, which can lead to a reduction in the number of tumors (source)

  • Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG)

    EGCG, a polyphenol found in green tea, has shown antitumor properties in several types of cancer, including lung, bladder, esophageal, and breast cancer (source).

     

    EGCG may inhibit cancer growth by: 

     

  1. Inhibiting growth factors like EGFR and IGFR-1, which suppress tumor cell growth and metastasis (source).
  2. Reducing angiogenesis by suppressing VEGFR gene expression, which blocks tumor invasion and metastasis (source).
  3. Promoting cytotoxic autophagy by inactivating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, which results in apoptosis induction (source).
  4. Increasing drug concentration in cancer stem cells (CSCs) by inhibiting the activity of transporters on the CSC membrane (source).
  5. Modulating the signaling pathways that govern carcinogenesis and cancer progression, such as MAP kinase (MAPK), phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K), and nuclear factor κB (NFkB) (source).

Most other NAD precursor products usually only contain one added ingredient, like Trans Resveratol, but others are needed or recommended.
